Rolling Thunder shows support for police with “Red, White, and Blue” ceremony

JOHNSON, TN (WJHL) – On Wednesday morning the Rolling Thunder Hosted and event where they aimed to “Honor the BLUE with the Red, White, and Blue”.

Local police and sheriffs agencies from across the region were invited to the event.

Representatives from the local agencies in attendance were given flags of fallen soldiers to display at their respective offices.

Congressman Phil Roe and State Representative John Holsclaw spoke in support for law enforcement and what they say are the challenges they face each day they wear their badge.

“I don’t think everyone understands what they go through. I think they think they jump in the car and go drink coffee and eat donuts and don’t really know what they go through every day. It’s a life and death situation a lot of times. They don’t know if the are coming home at night”, said Jeffrey Kilborn who is the President of the local Rolling Thunder chapter.

The Jonesborough Mayor Kelley Wolfe along with Carter County Mayor Leon Humphrey and Mayor David Helms of Marion Virginia also spoke in support of the police.

The presentation of colors was presented by the David Crockett Navy JROTC. The National Anthem was performed by the school’s Madrigal Singers.Copyright 2016 WJHL. All rights reserved.
