JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – East Tennessee State University’s Department of Public Safety issued a release Thursday about a female student who was reportedly sexually assaulted in a campus resident hall on Feb. 4.

According to the release, an ETSU staff member made a report to public safety that a female student reported to Campus Security Authority on Feb. 19 that she was sexually assaulted by a known male acquaintance.

CSA made the initial report to public safety at that time and gave additional information on Feb. 23 that the assault had occurred at an on-campus residence hall.Copyright 2016 WJHL. All rights reserved.
