Traffic stop nets four on drug, weapons charges in Coeburn

Police say four people are facing charges after officers discovered guns and illegal drugs inside a car during a traffic stop. 

Coeburn Police arrested Michael Cochran of Pennington Gap, Anthony Carroll of Big Stone Gap, Lindsey Massie of Big Stone Gap, and Jamie Deel of Coeburn. 

According to police, on Wednesday, an officer pulled over a black Chrysler 300 going about 42 mph in a 25 mph zone on Central Street in Coeburn. They say Cochran was driving the car and Carroll, Massie, and Deel were passengers.

An officer decided to search the car after smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to police. 

During the search, officers say they found several baggies of methamphetamine, a bag containing marijuana, several syringes containing meth, other drug paraphernalia, and several guns. 

Coeburn Police arrested all four suspects and impounded the vehicle. 

Cochran, Carroll, and Massie were all charged with drug and and weapons crimes. Deel was only charged with possession of a controlled substance.
