Governor Ralph Northam announced today that AMC will shoot the third series in ‘The Walking Dead’ franchise in Central Virginia this summer.

The series will have 10 episodes and will feature two young female characters, focusing on the first generation in the franchise.

The series will follow in the footsteps of the main program, ‘The Walking Dead’, and the current offshoot series, ‘Fear the Walking Dead’.

These programs rank among some of the most-watched cable series on TV.

The series will be eligible to receive a Virginia film tax credit. The amount will depend on how many Virginia workers are hired, Virginia goods and services purchased, and tourism promotions.
