Virginia hospitals rank second in the nation


Hospitals in the Commonwealth rank number two in the nation for patient safety.

That’s according to a new report by Leapfrog, a non-profit organization that looks at cleanliness, infections, complications, and deaths at hospitals across the country. 

In the report, most hospitals in Central Virginia got A’s and B’s.

VCU Health System and Southside Regional Medical Center received a C grade. Both hospitals scored below average for stopping infections. VCU scored below average for problems with surgery.

Bon Secours locations, Henrico and Parham Doctor’s Hospitals scored A grades.
