THP: Semi driver killed after tire blowout along I-24 in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A driver of a semi-truck died Monday after one of his tires had a blow out along Interstate 24 in Montgomery County.  

The crash happened in the westbound lanes near mile marker 13 around 3:30 p.m.  

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Ken Gonzalez of Laredo, Texas, was killed in the single-vehicle crash.  

The THP reported the semi was traveling west when a front, left tire blew out, causing the semi to drive off the left side of the roadway.  

The vehicle came to a stop facing west in the wood line along the roadway.  

No additional information was immediately released.
