UT Knoxville selects Donde Plowman as next chancellor

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL)- Just hours after ETSU President Dr. Brian Noland announced he withdrew his nomination to become the next UT Knoxville Chancellor, the university released its pick for the job.

The university announced Donde Plowman, current vice chancellor and chief academic officer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, has been recommended for the position.

Pending approval from the Board of Trustees, Plowman’s first day on the job is scheduled for July 1.

The news release noted that Plowman had previously served on the UT Knoxville faculty and led the management department in the Haslam College of Business.
