Kentucky State Police officials confirmed the 3-year-old twins thought missing from the house fire earlier Monday were found dead inside the home.
KSP officials say at approximately 6:30 p.m. KSP confirmed the twin three-year-old children had been located deceased inside of the residence.
The Harlan County Coroner pronounced both deceased and will be sending both kids to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
KSP is continuing to investigate what caused the fire and will release information as it comes available.
Monday afternoon, a husband and wife, the parents of the twins, were flown to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and their 3-year-old twins were still missing after a house fire in Harlan County, Kentucky.
Kentucky State Police reports a home on Ky. 522 in the Totz community caught fire just after 11 a.m. Monday morning. A husband and wife who own the home had to be flown to a hospital in Augusta, Georgia, for burn treatment.
Firefighters and officers remain on the scene and worked for several hours to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
