Phase II is now in effect for a project by the Bristol Redevelopment & Housing Authority.

Officials kicked off the second part of the Bonham Circle project today with the demolition of four outdated public housing buildings.

The buildings, located on West Mary Street in Bristol, Virginia, were built in the 1950s and updated in the 1990s.

Now, BRHA says they are being removed to “help renew the area for the community.”

For the immediate future, the land will be used to create green space.

BRHA said the area may still be considered for future housing developments.
