Army Veteran Richard Kennedy was reunited with Ciara, his emotional support dog, just before 10 p.m. Sunday night.

She stayed within a half mile radius of his hotel.

Richard Kennedy’s dog is a puppy and goes by the name Ciara. She ran away from the Days Inn on Asheville Highway late Friday night. Kennedy is staying in Knoxville while his truck gets fixed.

He previously asked for the community to be on the lookout for Ciara because she’s an important part of his life on the road.

If I have any type of TBI or PTSD issues, you use a companion to help calm you down and also they keep you straight and on track, said Kennedy.

A man who lives across the street from the Days Inn found Ciara. Kennedy told us he’s feeling ecstatic.
