TELLICO SPRINGS, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced a Monroe County 6-year-old at the center of an AMBER Alert has been safely located.

Friday morning, the TBI said Alijah Kensinger, who was missing from Tellico Plains, was found in the woods near his home.

The AMBER Alert was announced Thursday night and described Kensinger as 4 feet tall, weighs 55 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

He had last been seen wearing jeans, a gray hooded jacket with a red zipper and orange and black sneakers.

According to the TBI, Kensinger went to play in the woods near his home in the area of New Highway 68 in Tellico Plains and had not been seen since.

The public was urged to call the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office or 1-800-TBI-FIND if they spotted Kensinger.
