Two people are facing charges after an injured dog was found lying in its own feces at a home last week.

Bluefield, West Virginia police arrested Juan Tabb and Kimberly Froy on Monday.

According to police, an officer “observed a small dog in distress laying on the front porch in its own feces, covered in fleas and what appeared to have a leg injury” on Monday, May 13.

An animal control officer was called to the scene, who determined the dog had a broken leg. The dog was transported to a local veterinarian for treatment.

Police say both Tabb and Froy told them the dog had been hit by a car, but they had no intention of seeking medical help for the dog.

Both have been charged with animal cruelty.

The condition of the dog is unknown.
