A 15-month old has died, a 20-day old is in critical condition after being found unresponsive in a Seymour bathtub on Tuesday.
Bethanie Carriker, 34, of Seymour has been charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse by neglect after her two infant daughters were found unresponsive in a bathtub.
The Seymour Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on Green Fern Trail Tuesday around 2:45 p.m. after a report of two small children found unresponsive.
SVFD officials later confirming to WATE 6 On Your Side that the two small children were found in a bathtub.
Carriker was performing CPR when first responders arrived. Medics took over and both children were transported to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.
Carriker is being held on $1 million bond. She is set to appear in Blount County General Sessions Court Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
