Mother of twins killed in Kentucky house fire dies at hospital

The mother of two three-year-old twins found dead after a house fire in Harlan County, Kentucky, has now also died.

Kentucky State Police say Allyson Howard, 42, died in a hospital Wednesday in Augusta, Georgia. Her family said 83 percent of her body was severely burned. Her husband Dennis Howard remains in critical condition.

The home on Ky. 522 in the Totz community caught fire just after 11 a.m. Monday morning. The twins’ bodies were found a few hours later.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
