Metro police are investigating after seven people were shot at a party near Fisk University early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to Dr. D.B Todd Jr. Boulevard and Knowles Street just before 2:00 a.m.

At this point in their investigation, officers believe there was a large party and a suspect started shooting. It’s unclear what led to the shooting as detectives are still interviewing witnesses.

Five of the people shot were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center by ambulance. The other two victims were driven in their personal cars to another hospital.

Metro police say at this point, none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.

Officers have not released a suspect description.
