Fire breaks out at waste and recycling plant in north Knoxville


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE)- Knoxville authorities are responding to a large fire in North Knoxville Wednesday afternoon.

The Knoxville Fire Department is responding to a fire at Fort Loudon Waste & Recycling at 2742 Hancock Street.

The Knoxville Fire Department has set up a media compound near the site of the incident as they work to put out the fire. KFD spokesperson D.J. Corcoran said at the scene they’ve yet to find any injuries.
