(WJHL) – President Trump used Twitter to endorse a Tennessee candidate for the United States Senate.

Thursday afternoon, the President tweeted his support for the Republican United States Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn.

She’s running for the Republican nomination for United States Senate.

The President said Blackburn is a “wonderful woman who has always been there when we have needed her.”

He called her “Great on the Military, Border Security and Crime.”

The President tweeted he will come to Tennessee to campaign for Blackburn.

She hopes to replace fellow Republican Bob Corker who will not seek re-election.

Democrats hope to take the seat this November.  A recent poll shows former Governor Phil Bredesen leading Blackburn in public support.
