Powerful winds Saturday afternoon in Jeanerette sent a carport roof flying into the air and landing onto a home.

It happened just after 3 p.m. on Hubertville Road, according to Fire Chief Clarence Clark.

A family inside the home at the time of the incident was not injured, Clark said.

CLECO officials have arrived on scene and have secured the area to remove the carport roof from the home.
