Power outages likely from Washington County, Tennessee crash


WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN (WJHL) – First responders are on the scene of a crash in Washington County, TN on Highway 81 N near Butchertown Rd.

Fall Branch Volunteer Fire Department Public Information Officer  said the crash happened around 4:30am Friday morning.

Boone told News Channel 11 the driver said he fell asleep at the wheel and lost control the white Ford Mustang.

Boone said the car was airborne, flipped, then hit a power pole breaking it in two.

Fire fighters pulled the driver of the car, out of the back window.

The driver was taken to Johnson City Medical Center where he is being treated for non life threatening injuries.

The Johnson City Powerboard is currently on the scene trying to repair the pole. Power outages are likely at this time.
