Kingsport BMA picks Chris McCartt for city manager

City leaders have picked Chris McCartt to be the next city manager of Kingsport. 

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen unanimously appointed McCartt to the position during Tuesday evening’s meeting. 

McCartt currently serves as Assistant City Manager for Administration. He has been an employee of the city since 1997.

He will replace current city manager Jeff Fleming, who announced his retirement last month after 35 years with the city. 

Flemming’s last day will be June 21.
