HAWKINS COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) – The parents of missing 5-year-old Summer Wells have started a YouTube channel in hopes that it will help in the search for their missing daughter.
“Hi, this is Don and Candus Wells, and this is our Youtube Channel,” said Don Wells, Summer’s father in a six-second video of he and his wife posted on October 12.
The ‘Don Wells Family Official’ Youtube channel launched on Oct. 11, almost four months after Summer Wells was reported missing.
“I just wanted to thank everyone for helping to find my daughter,” said Wells in a video posted Oct. 13. “We love and miss her with all our hearts. Nothing will ever be the same without her.”
The channel, which is run by Donald Wells and Candus Bly, is utilized to keep the public updated with the latest developments in the search for Summer, and is also another way to help spread the word that she is missing.
“We just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone who’s helping us to try and find our daughter,” Wells said in a video with Bly, posted on Oct. 13. “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks for the prayers and the love.”
There are videos telling their story, thanking people and the media, and some documenting their recent trip to Los Angeles to film for an episode of “Dr. Phil.”
“I’m blessed to be here with Don and Candus and just show them a little love for a minute,” said Youtube Content Creator, Benny Keyz in a video posted October 16.
The air date for Don and Candus’ interview with Dr. Phil McGraw hasn’t been set yet
“Love and prayers. Thank you for all the support,” said Keyz in that same video. “I know Don has turned a lot of hearts around, and that’s what this is all about, bringing Summer home. Amen.”
The channel is part of the family’s website, Find Summer Wells.com. It’s a central place for people to find information like Summer’s description, recent news, a blog, and contact information to send tips to the private investigator.
“We hope and pray to God we can find our daughter. We can’t thank you enough,” said Wells in an Oct. 13 video. “There’s nothing we can do to thank y’all enough. But just to thank you and praise our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”
The Amber Alert for Summer is still active and will remain that way until she is found, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
There is also a reward fund that was set up by the Church Hill Rescue Squad shortly after Summer went missing.
The fund recently surpassed $40,000 with two donations totaling $35,000.
