Deadly storm moving across South claims lives of 3 children

Deadly storms sweeping across the South have already damaged multiple communities and claimed the lives of three children in two different states. 

The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-3 tornado touched down in East Texas in the town of Franklin. Multiple homes were destroyed and residents are dealing with a massive power outage. No word on when power will be restored. 

In Angelina County, Texas a tree fell on top of a moving car, killing an 8-year-old and 3-year-old in the back seat. According to deputies in the county, the parents are okay and were treated for their injuries after EMS arrived. 

According to a Facebook post, the 8-year-old child was identified as Dilynn Creel, a second-grade student at Central Elementary.

In Louisiana, a 13-year-old child drowned in a drainage canal after floodwaters swept the area. The child’s identity has not been released pending the notification of the family.
