N.Y. man faces attempted murder charge in East Stone Drive shooting investigation

KINGSPORT, TN (WJHL) – A man from Brooklyn, NY was arrested and charged with criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder following a shooting on East Stone Drive in Kingsport on Aug. 20.

According to a KPD news release, officers responded to a shooting in the Regions Bank and Buffalo Wild Wings on East Stone Drive that happened around 8:25 p.m.

Before police arrived on-scene, a 22-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious gunshot wounds. The man has since been released from the hospital.

Witness accounts, surveillance video footage from businesses in the area and an assessment of the crime scene led detectives to determine a man attacked the victim in the parking lot and shot him multiple times.

According to police, the man attempted to kill the other man in retaliation over a past disagreement.

Kerrieth Deshaun Price was identified as the suspect and a warrant was issued charging him with criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

Price reportedly left Kingsport and went back to Brooklyn, where he was located by U.S. Marshals Service on Tuesday. He is currently awaiting extradition back to Tennessee.
