WASHINGTON COUNTY, VA (WJHL) – A Washington County, Va. man was arrested on child pornography charges, according to a Washington County, Va. Sheriff’s Office news release.
According to a sheriff’s office news release, officers with the Hillsville Police Department arrested Darius Lee Foran, Sr., 49, after they said he traveled to meet what he thought was a girl under the age of 15, who he met online.
He was charged with two counts of use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children.
Hillsville Police detectives contacted the Washington County, Va. Sheriff’s Office and an investigation to a search warrant being executed at Foran’s home on June 10.
During a search of Foran’s home, computers, multiple electronic storage devices and firearms were seized.
Police seized the firearms because Foran had a previous felony conviction.
Investigators said they found thousands of images and videos of child pornography on Foran’s computer.
Foran now faces 50 counts of possession of child pornography and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He was scheduled to appear in Washington County General District Court on July 27. Foran was also scheduled to appear in Carroll County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on Aug. 8.
