JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – Johnson City Police Department officers arrested a Jonesborough man on multiple charges including assault, kidnapping and sexual battery, following a brief standoff with police Monday night at a Johnson City motel.

According to a JCPD news release, officers responded to Volunteer Lodge, 2316 Browns Mill Road,  in reference to an unknown disturbance.

When officers arrived, they found a woman with severe facial trauma, who claimed her boyfriend, Brad Millsap, 39, had assaulted her.

Police said due to the extent of the woman’s injuries she was taken to Johnson City Medical Center.

Officers then obtained an arrest warrant for Millsap, charging him with aggravated domestic assault and he was taken into custody following a standoff with JCPD SWAT.
