Man charged in JC murder to face separate burglary, theft charges

JOHNSON CITY, TN (WJHL) – A man charged with shooting a woman in the face then killing another woman in a passing car last month, now faces burglary and theft charges from a separate incident.

According to a Johnson City Police Department news release, investigators were at Smith’s home on Nov. 13 on a search warrant related to a homicide and found property that was reported stolen by a neighbor.

Smith was served with the warrant charging him with aggravated burglary and theft under $500 at the Washington County Detention Center, where he was already being held on felony murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon by a felon charges.

On Nov. 13, Smith was accused of shooting into a car on John Exum Parkway in Johnson City.

Tiaria Miller, 19, of Johnson City, was hit by a bullet and killed.
