JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – A lawsuit has been filed in federal court in Illinois naming The Boeing Company as a defendant in a wrongful death lawsuit.
The lawsuit comes after 157 people were killed when an Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 Max 8 jetliner crashed last month.
One of the people killed in the crash was Dr. Manisha Nukavarapu, a second-year internal medicine resident at ETSU Quillen College of Medicine.
The lawsuit named the plaintiff as the administrator of Dr. Nukavarapu’s estate, Paul Kishore Konda Veeti.
In the lawsuit, the plaintiff demands Boeing face a jury trial for items such as the funeral costs, economic and property losses, conscious physical pain and suffering, and several other items.
