Authorities in Sullivan County report a woman, who was involved in a shooting on Thursday night, was arrested by the Kingsport Police Department after a chase involving multiple agencies.
Teresa Worthington, age 32, was wanted in Sullivan County and Kingsport for car theft and theft of $2,500 and two counts of violation of probation.
Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Kristen Quon said they received a call of a stolen car, a Volkswagen Beetle, in the Bloomingdale area of Kingsport.
Quon says, around 9:00 p.m. officers spotted Worthington in a stolen Volkswagen Beetle outside of the B-mart on Highway 11W. The sheriff’s office reports multiple shots were fired from the car at people.
Deputies along with the Kingsport Police Department and U.S. Marshals pursued Worthington for 20 minutes.
Authorities said Worthington later ditched the car and tried to run through a field behind the Ashbury Assisted Living facility. She was captured a short time later.
Authorities found in a Glock pistol and multiple drugs in the VW.
Worthington was taken to the Sullivan County Correctional facility and currently has no bond. She’s facing a slew of charges, theft up to $500, two counts of violation of probation, felony evading arrest, reckless driving, failure to yield the right of way, speeding, driving while license is suspended or revoked, theft of property, failure to wear a seat belt, schedule I-VIII drug violations, handgun possession, prohibited possession of a firearm during commission of a crime, aggravated assault an felony reckless endangerment.
