WCSO searching for man that led police on I-81 chase

Washington County, Virginia Sheriff Office investigators are asking for your help to find a man that led police on a multi-state chase.  

According to spokesperson Darrell Dickenson, officials are searching for Torrent Lerue Ferguson after he led police on a chase on Interstate 81. Ferguson has an active indictment out of Washington County, Virginia for sale, resale of drugs in the county.  

The first call of the chase came in right for 12:30 p.m. this afternoon, according to Dickenson.  

According to Dickenson, Ferguson was last seen in person in the East Valley/Old Abingdon Highway area around 12:49 p.m in Virginia.  

Officers were able to discover Ferguson’s Dodge Charger on Taylor Street in Tennessee around 12:53 p.m. abandoned.  

Dickenson says Virginia State Police, Med-Flight, Bristol Tennessee and Virginia police agencies are all assisting with the search and further charges are pending against Ferguson.  

Anyone with information on Ferguson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (276) 676-6000.
