A David Crockett High School softball player injured during a game has been released from the hospital and is recovering, according to the team’s head coach.
Head Coach Carla Weims told News Channel 11 the player has some muscle soreness, but is okay following the injury during Monday night’s game.
The player was transported to the hospital by ambulance after her head made contact with the block wall on the third base line.
She was chasing down a foul fly ball when she hit the wall.
The player was conscious the entire time waiting on the ambulance to arrive.
According to an athletic trainer, the injury did not appear to be serious and the trip to the hospital was a precautionary measure.
