U.S. Marshals offering $10K reward for Appalachia water plant murder suspect Eric Jones

Federal investigators are now offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the capture of a Southwest Virginia murder suspect.

Eric Monroe Jones is accused of killing his ex-wife Janina Jefferson at the Appalachia water plant back in November 2016. Jefferson was an operator at the plant.

The Wise County Sheriff’s Office charged him with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and use of a firearm during the commission of first-degree murder.

Investigators say the case will be the subject of an upcoming episode of “In Pursuit with John Walsh,” scheduled to air at 10 p.m., Wednesday, March 27 on ID Discovery.

Anyone with information about Jones’ whereabouts is asked to contact the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102, or submit a tip to USMS Tips at www.usmarshals.gov/tips or call their local law enforcement agency if the information is urgent in nature and a safety issue.
