Bristol Tennessee Police investigators have charged two people in connection to a robbery at a Dollar General located on Bluff City Highway.

On Monday, James Bell, 58, was arrested charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit a robbery. Michael Willis, 61, has also been charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and tampering with evidence.

According to investigators, an older white male, allegedly Bell, approached the cash register at the store on Sunday with an item to purchase.

When the clerk opened the cash drawer, the suspect shoved the clerk and took the money out of the drawer and fled the scene in a vehicle.

The clerk was able to provide police with information about the car, driven by Willis.

After officers stopped the care, the police report says Willis attempted to dispose of the money taken but was quickly stopped by police.

The two remain at the Sullivan County Jail with $50,000 bonds. No one was injured during the robbery.
