Two jailed after chase, crash in Bristol

Authorities say two people are facing charges after a police chase and car crash.

Bristol, Tennessee Police arrested 22-year Shay Osborne and 35-year-old Keysha Masengale, both from Harrison, Tennessee

According to Bristol Police, on Thursday afternoon officers spotted a white Chevy Equinox wanted in connection to a gasoline theft case that happened earlier in the day. Police tried to stop the vehicle on Volunteer Parkway but it took off instead.

Police say the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and nearly struck an officer’s patrol car. Officers chased the Chevy which, at one point, was traveling down the wrong side of Volunteer Parkway.

After a brief chase, officers terminated the pursuit but say the suspect vehicle continued to be driven recklessly.

According to police, the vehicle made a u-turn onto Bluff City Highway and then turned onto Locus Road where it crashed into a tree.

Officers say the driver and passenger tried to make a run for it, but were eventually captured.

The driver, identified as Osborne, is charged with felony reckless endangerment, felony evading arrest, theft, unlawful drug paraphernalia, driving on a revoked license, and unlawful removal of registration plates.

They say Masengale was a passenger in the vehicle. She is facing charges of evading arrest, theft, and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

No motorists were injured during the incident, according to BPD.
