Today marks 8th year since deadly tornadoes struck the region

April 27, 2011, will be a day Tennessee and Virginia residents will always remember. 

Today marks the 8th year since a deadly outbreak of tornadoes hit our region, spanning from Greene County to Glade Spring. 

The National Weather Service says it was the largest single outbreak of tornadoes across the region. 

Several communities are still reeling from the destruction and looking to rebuild.
