Sullivan County leaders are en route now to Florida to present Cartledge with a “day of recognition” proclamation signed by Gov. Bill Lee and a flag that has flown over the state capitol.

Representative John Crawford will be presenting the proclamation and flag to Cartledge.

Sullivan County Sheriff Jeff Cassidy says he’s excited to be part of the trip.

“He’s touched all of our hearts anI’mim sure he’s touched the communities hearts as well,” Cassidy said. “So, we’re going to fly out today, meet Zechariah, and introduce him with a proclamation. He’s got a lot of shoulder patches and a lot of memorabilia from Steve and from our office and our community.”
