NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL)- The Tennessee Department of Health has updated its website Wednesday bringing the total number of measles cases in the state to 5.

There is no exact location of where the case is based. 

Ballad: Precautions in place as third measles case confirmed

Tennessee Department of Health officials previously confirmed three of the measles cases were located in East Tennessee.

Measles symptoms typically include:

  • High fever (may spike to more than 104° F)
  • Cough
  • Runny nose
  • Red, watery eyes
  • Rash breaks out 3-5 days after symptoms begin
