TBI: Kingsport woman accused of falsely reporting sexual assault in jail


SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL)-  A Kingsport woman has been indicted on a charge of false reporting after authorities said she made an allegation of sexual assault.

According to officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Shauna Jones reported that an officer sexually assaulted her back in April 2018 while she was an inmate at the Sullivan County Jail.

An investigation concluded that the incident Jones reported did not happen.

Jones was indicted by a Sullivan County Grand Jury on one count of false reporting.

She was arrested and jailed on a $10,000 bond.
