Suspect in fatal dentist office shooting remains hospitalized

The suspect in the fatal shooting last week at a Kingsport dentist office remains hospitalized, according to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.

 Harry Weaver, age 63, is accused of fatally shooting his wife, 53-year-old Kelly Weaver. 

The shooting happened Wednesday at Dr. David Guy Dentistry located at 150 Clinic Private Drive in Colonial Heights. 

Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, Andy Seabolt, told News Channel 11, Harry Weaver is “still in the hospital.”  

There is no word on when he will be released. Once he is released, he will formally be charged with first-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault. 

Sheriff Jeff Cassidy told News Channel 11 Weaver went into the dentist office with the intentions of killing his wife. According to witnesses, Weaver and the victim were going through a divorce.  

A patient at the dentist office, with a carry permit, shot the gunman and held him until law enforcement arrived. 

The sheriff, calls the bystander identified as Larry Seagroves, a “hero”.  

According to media reports, a private memorial service will be held for the victim.
