A man is facing several charges related to a runaway juvenile and police pursuit Wednesday.
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Rhodes, 26 of Piney Flats.
According to the sheriff’s office, Rhodes was with a runaway juvenile who was reported missing by her family Wednesday morning.
When a deputy spotted Rhodes in his vehicle in the area of DeVault Bridge Road in Piney Flats and tried to pull him over, he took off according to the sheriff’s office.
During the pursuit, investigators say Rhodes struck another vehicle at the intersection of State Route 75 and Muddy Creek Road.
The chase came to an end on SR 75 in Blountville.
Rhodes is facing charges of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of aggravated assault, felony reckless endangerment, reckless endangerment, sexual contact with a minor, harboring a runaway, evading arrest, driving on a revoked license, and various other traffic charges.
The sheriff’s office says the juvenile was found unharmed and was returned to her parents.
