Sullivan Co. man pleads guilty to second degree murder of a child

A man accused of murder and abuse of a child in Sullivan County will now serve time in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder. 

According to court documents from Sullivan County, James R. Casteel entered a guilty plea for second-degree murder, along with pleas for aggravated child abuse and falsifying a police report on April 29th. 

Casteel will serve 20 years in prison. 

Investigators say Casteel was alone with the child and living in a storage building with the incident happened.
