The 46th Annual Storytelling Festival gets underway this weekend in Tennessee’s Oldest Town.
The event runs all weekend in Jonesborough and will kick off Thursday night with The Black Lillies for a night of songs and stories.
International Storytelling Center President Kiran Singh Sirah said he expects around 10,000 people to attend this year’s festival including patrons from several different countries.
When we come together, 10,000 people, all across different political spectrums sitting together and enjoying an experience together and sparking our imagination, we start to imagine. And that experience together, not just in celebration and laughter, but helping us to think of the story of where we are going,” Sirah said.
The events kick off at 10 o’clock Friday morning and will wrap up Sunday afternoon.
