UPDATE: Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia is now under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m.
Our Storm Team 11 has also learned Eastern Kentucky is also under a tornado watch.
You can watch the latest update on the weather below:
The severe weather threat continues across East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia into this afternoon and evening.
Even though most of us are not in the Enhanced Risk anymore, there’s still the possibility of some severe weather through 10 p.m.
A Tornado Watch is in effect for our eastern Kentucky counties through 9 p.m.
The brunt of the storms is likely between 3 and 8 p.m. Check out our future radar. Any of the storms could produce damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornado. Seek shelter away from windows if a severe thunderstorm warning is issued. If a tornado warning is issued, you should also go into the lowest part of your home in an interior room or closet.
