As Thanksgiving comes to an end, millions of holiday shoppers are spending big for Black Friday.
A National Retail Federation survey says more than 164 million consumers plan to shop over the five day weekend.
Of those consumers, 116 million will hit the stores on Black Friday, looking for the best deals.
For people like Sydney Estep, she traveled from Hurley, Virginia with her family to shop at the Mall at Johnson City.
“We’ve been here since 6 a.m.,” Estep said. “We always set a time to get up and stuff and then come here, shop all day, eat out, girls trip, we have a great time.”
She said her family always dresses up for the big day.
“We always get matching t-shirts, we told the lady earlier that’s how we find each other in the mall,” Estep said.
It’s a tradition for many families across our region.
Estep said her family founds some great deals on household items.
“Well my mom got a 10 piece comforter set for a hundred dollars, JC Penny,” Estep said.
If you miss out on the Black Friday deals, don’t worry, the biggest online shopping day of the year is just days away.
Many shoppers are skipping the lines this year and waiting to cash in on Cyber Monday.
