Shelter open for those impacted by Bristol, Virginia water outage

City officials have opened an emergency shelter for those impacted by a water outage.

According to the city, the water outage is primarily affecting customers near Virginia High School.

BVU says about a “handful” of customers are experiencing low water pressure.

The emergency shelter is at Highlands Fellowship, 134 Commerce Court.

City Manager Randall Eads says the shelter will close at 11:30 p.m. if no one has shown up. It will reopen at 7 a.m. if it does close overnight.

Anyone with questions about the shelter can call (276) 628-329, extension 1004, to speak with a volunteer.
