ROAN MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (WJHL) – A Roan Mountain restaurant has been named the best on the Appalachian Trail in a bracket-style vote on a thru-hiker website.

The “Spring(er) Fever” contest at The Trek put 32 restaurants along the Appalachian Trail head-to-head to find the best one.

Bob’s Dairyland, a Roan Mountain diner, came out the winner against Mojo’s Café in Damascus, Va.

The Trek had voting open for three days for the public. Of the 635 votes, 388 people voted Bob’s Dairyland as the best.

A third local eat-place for thru-hikers, Mountain Harbor Hostel’s food truck in Roan Mountain, was also featured in the bracket.
