The funeral service will be held at Highlands Fellowship Church on Wednesday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m.

A committal service will be held after the funeral at Forest Hills Memory Gardens on Lee Highway.

Abingdon Police and several other law enforcement agencies will be controlling all intersections with traffic signals due to the anticipation of a large funeral procession.

In a release, Abingdon Police said traffic will be stopped out of respect for the family and the memory of Kirk.

Police urge drivers to avoid Cumming Street and West Main Street during this time.

To prevent congestion on Cummings Street, state police and the Department of Transportation will close both north and southbound ramps at exit 17. Drivers will be asked to use exit 14 or 19 instead.
