Police: 2 arrested, 1 still at-large after crash in Dickenson County

The Dickenson County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find a man after he reportedly left the scene of a crash over the weekend. 

According to investigators, Linzie Humes is now charged with felony elude, felony possession of narcotics, felony driving DUI revoked, multiple traffic infractions, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and obstructing justice. 

His two passengers, Jessica Kincaid, and Matthew Adkins were arrested at the scene of the crash Sunday and charged with felony possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia and obstructing justice.

According to investigators, deputies were responding to a call in the Cutter Creek section of Dickenson County. While responding, investigators say a vehicle being driven by Linzie A. Humes almost struck one of the deputy vehicles at a high rate of speed.

Deputies reportedly turned and activated emergency lights in which the subject saw the lights and tried to turn at a high rate of speed, resulting in him losing control of the vehicle and crashing into a creek.

Deputies approached the crash site on foot to check for injuries when they observed Humes and another subject Matthew Adkins on the side of the hill trying to flee the scene. Deputies were able to detain Matthew Adkins and another passenger Jessica Kincaid. Humes fled into the woods after multiple verbal commands to stop. An area search was conducted but the Humes subject is still at large. Adkins and Kincaid were arrested and held on a secure bond.
