New Virginia bill could more than double minimum wage

Local

Virginia could see a raise in minimum wage to $15 an hour thanks to a new bill.

That’s more than double the current minimum wage at $7.25 an hour.

If signed into law, the “S-B 1200” bill would take effect July 1-st with an initial $10 raise and eventually

reach $15/hour by 20-21.

The bill is now advancing to the full senate for a vote after passing the senate commerce and labor

committee.
