Three new veterans and their families now have new homes thanks to the work of college students.

The Appalachia Service Project held their annual “Race to Build” this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, and the event came to a close on Sunday.

Nebraska University came away with top honors while Iowa State and East Tennessee State University finished second and third, respectively.

Laura Kelly, with ASP, says the homes will be moved for families in the coming days in Johnson City.
