NASCAR announces ‘Schedule Shakeup’; BMS to host playoff race

(WJHL) NASCAR has announced major changes to its racing schedule for 2020.

Bristol Motor Speedway will host the Food City 500 on April 5, before an off weekend. The Last Great Coliseum will also host the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race as a playoff race on September 19.

Bristol Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway road course, and Martinsville Speedway will host the Round of 16, Round of 12 and Round of 8 eliminations.

This means that Bristol will not have an August race.

According to NASCAR, fans asked for more short track races for playoffs.

The championship will move to ISM Raceway in Arizona.
